Saurus kids

Saurus kids is a game designed to be played by hospitalized children, and functions as a mini Gymkhana designed exclusively for each hospital it is used in.

Using Vuforia's powerful SDK, i placed the gameplay elements throughout the layout of the hospital's playroom, turning it into a virtual playspace that players must explore to complete the game.

The goal of the game is to excavate several dinosaur bones by answering a series of relevant questions to that dinosaur, thus combining gameplay and learning which was one of our design goals.

If you are interested in the project, this is the official Saurus Kids webpage, which contains additional information:

There is also a system that creates the AR scene around the player, containing the full game and allowing them to explore it without physically moving, this was created to accomodate children who are hospitalized and are unable to move around in the playspace.

Lastly to compliment the game, an additional module was developed with the NREAL AR glasses, which allows the children to see their dinosaur move around the playspace by using the mixed reality display glasses.

In this video you can see one of our testers enjoying the AR experience!
